doglets: (linds dalek)
Lindsay continues to improve although she remains a very frail doglet. Her tummy seems to have coped with the nuclear antibiotics, although she has had some urgency with number 2s and is having accidents in the house.  At 16 years old its commendable that she doesn't have piddle accidents.

LIndsay  is eating, but she has gone painfully thin, always a slim dog but her ribs and hips are sticking out. But you have to be cuddling the dog to notice - as she still has her big fluffy coat on.  However, she is well enough to scold the younger dogs for being boistrous and she still won't sleep downstairs. She woofs and she boofs and she grumbles until we carry her upstairs. She does have a bimble around the garden to check all is where it should be - but she does sleep a lot.
Yesterday, she had a relaxing day with    [profile] cathandtheskunk   who looked after her and Little Abe. This gave her a good rest from Nurse Kato who still wants to snoot her ear constantly.

I guess if she was human and in hospital she would be described as comfortable.

Yesterday, Java "did" the Malvern Hills with her Staff Association. A fair few miles with many inclines. Even the most rambly of the staff association found this a bit of a challenge.   When hippy went to collect her from Wallace   Glyn, he stood up and said "ooooch me back" and Java in harmony stood up and said "Oooch me Back Left"  But one dose of Metacam and a BIg Sleep sorted that out (Java that is, not Glyn)

In the pub after the walk, Java was apparently just doing her Pub Dog thing, snoozing under the table when all of a sudden she went on High Bum-Fur-Up Red Alert. Everyone looked at Java - what could she have seen?

"Crikey, that tables alive!" barked Java "Mind your pints!"

What Java saw was a table advancing towards her with punters hastily grabbing their pints off the moving table. Naturally Java barked, who wouldn't with a table advancing towards them. Java and Glyn finished their pints outside. Whether Java had noticed that under the table was a big German Shepherd.......we will never know.

Meanwhile, Kato was in Higher Bebbington and Chester installing Broadband, learning about brothers, gariboldi biscuits and stuff.

Yesterday, Little Abe walked her personal dogsitter  [profile] cathandtheskunk   home. Little Abe doesn't go off the territory so much due to her unvaccinated status so she really enjoys going to Cathys.  Its a short walk to a a dog friendly house - (give or take a rabbit)

But en-route, there and back, Abe managed to find some poo to sniff - why don't people clean up after their dogs? Theres a bin about every second lamp-post in Wolverhampton, not to mention umpteen wheely bins. Do we have to walk up the middle of the road to keep Abe safe? One poo would be a forgiveable forgotten poo bag (we've all been there) but  there was a poo every few yards. Grumble.

Anyway, Little Abe was less nervous this time and was quite enchanted&intrigued by the six year old who was Keeper of the Dog Chocs - and did obey his commands - Sit, Down, Stay, Listen to Smoke on the Water Riff.

It was good to see [personal profile] flooks  and have a quick coffee with [profile] rainbowskye

Little Abe slept like a puppy when we got home - all that maths homework must have worn her out :-)
