doglets: (abe)

Following our dilemma over whether or not to vaccinate Abe, given her increasingly bad reaction to vaccinations, and researching widely, we have decided not to take her for her booster. The vet (reluctantly) offered us tests to see how high or low her immunity is. But what would we do with this information? If it was high immunity then great - but if it were low, we are still left wondering if the next booster could kill her by anaphylaxis. I am a nurse, I have seen this death,(in humans) and it is horrific. Abe nearly died following a bee/wasp sting reaction.

Java has just returned from the vets having had her booster. And on examination the doctor thinks she may have a double heart beat.........

Vet reckoned it could have been nerves, Java is a little nervous in the vets because she has had painful experiences from clumsy vet nurses. But today she was quite chilled out, even when some loon got his cat out of the box in the waiting room. Vet said he will do an ECG if we're worried or she has a cough or seems to get tired. Java is a bit sloth like, loves her bed and her quiet solitude, but she is also up for insane Slippy Dog with the Sweetness and long, long walks.
